Every vehicle needs a Northwest Forest Pass to park on USDA Forest Service lands.
SALMON LA SAC SNO-PARK (all race entrants, crews, and volunteers)
Easy access for all vehicles, ample parking, port-a-potties.
From I-90, take Exit 80 toward Roslyn/Suncadia. Head north off the exit onto Bullfrog Road. At the traffic circle in 2 miles, take the first exit to stay on Bullfrog Road. At the next traffic circle in 0.7 miles, take the second exit to continue straight onto WA-903 N toward Roslyn. In 1.5 miles (after passing through Roslyn), turn left onto W Nevada Ave. In 0.3 miles, continue onto WA-903 N/N 7th Street. In 4.5 miles (after passing through Ronald), WA-903 N becomes Salmon La Sac Road; continue straight. In 9.6 miles, turn right onto NF-4315. Go 0.2 miles and turn right into the Sno-Park.
The turn onto NF-4315 is unmarked. If you reach Cayuse Horse Camp, you’ve gone too far.
SASSE RIDGE (aid station volunteers only)
Easy access, no toilet facilities.
Out of the Sno-Park lot, turn right onto NF-4315. (Don’t go back out to the main paved road.) Take NF-4315 for 6.5 miles until it ends. That’s it.
GALLAGHER HEAD LAKE (aid station volunteers only)
Technical 4WD vehicle and driving experience required, no toilet facilities.
HIKING DIRECTIONS: From the De Roux Trailhead, hop on the Boulder - De Roux Trail and hike alongside De Roux Creek. The trail starts out flat, crossing a large, sturdy bridge and wandering alongside the creek, but soon begins to climb. Continue 1.3 miles before arriving at a junction. Take the right hand trail, signed for “Gallagher Head Lake”. It’s 1.5 miles of steady climbing as you go from 4,080 to 5,520 feet. Climb through the forest alongside De Roux Creek as it becomes more dramatic, complete with crashing rapids and waterfalls. Top out at a creek crossing that takes some balance - or at least a set of trekking poles - to make it across dry.

VAN EPPS PASS (aid station volunteers only)
Technical 4WD vehicle and driving experience required, no toilet facilities.
HIKING DIRECTIONS: From Esmeralda Trailhead, hike 0.3 miles to a junction. Veer left onto Trail 1394. After 2.7 miles, you’ll encounter an intersection. Stay right on Trail 1226.2 toward Lake Ann. It’s 2.6 miles from this intersection to Van Epps Pass.
DRIVING DIRECTIONS TO TRAILHEAD: See Iron Peak directions below. Continue past the De Roux Campground turnoff for 1.4 miles to the road’s end and trailhead.
IRON PEAK (runners’ crews, pacers, aid station volunteers)
Easy access, no toilet facilities at aid station but one not far at De Roux Trailhead.
Just east of Cle Elum take Highway 970 to Teanaway Road (about seven miles from the turnoff from I-90). Turn left and continue north on Teanaway Road, veering right when the pavement ends. Follow the North Fork Teanaway, Road 9737, about 8.5 miles to where the road splits. The left hand split will take you to the DeRoux Trailhead.
RUNNERS’ CREWS: Park in the De Roux Campground lot and take the foot path up to the aid station. GPS Coordinates: 47.41780, -120.93753
AID STATION VOLUNTEERS: You can go just past the DeRoux turnoff and park in one of the pull offs along 9737. The aid station is set up at the Iron Peak Trailhead. There is no designated lot at this point.
BEVERLY TURNPIKE (aid station volunteers, walk-in crew, walk-in pacers)
Easy access but a little clearance helps, no toilet facilities.
From I-90, take Exit 85 and head north off the exit. Turn right onto WA-970. In 6.5 miles, turn left onto Teanaway Road. Stay on this road for 13 miles until the pavement ends. (It will become North Fork Teanaway Road after 7.3 miles.) At the start of the gravel road, take a slight right onto NF-9737. In 1.3 miles, veer left to stay on NF-9737. In 2.4 miles, turn right onto NF-9737-112, signed for Beverly-Bean Trailhead. (This turn is just before a bridge to the Beverly Creek Campground.)
RUNNERS’ CREW: Walk-in crew and pacers must find a spot here on the road, and then walk up the remaining section.
AID STATION VOLUNTEERS: Drive 1.4 miles to the road’s end and trailhead. Runners’ crew and pacers are not allowed to park at the trailhead. GPS Coordinates: 47.38953, -120.87236
MILLER PEAK (runners’ crews, pacers, aid station volunteers)
Easy access, toilet available.
From I-90, take Exit 85 and head north off the exit. Turn right onto WA-970. In 6.5 miles, turn left onto Teanaway Road. Stay on this road for 13 miles until the pavement ends.
